Due to a huge increase in work, our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is looking to recruit an experienced Aircraft Laminator / Trimmer to add to their dedicated & committed team.
The ideal candidate will be required to follow assembly and final assembly processes of composite panel manufacture inclusive of:
1. Application of decorative laminates to production composite panel
2. Potting of inserts
3. Bonding of various brackets and equipment
4. Bonding of inserts, using various adhesives
5. Bonding components and sub-assemblies using adhesives to drawing specifications
6. Produce work to required quality standards
7. Produce work to drawing specification and procedural guidelines
8. Maintain all health & safety disciplines in the composite area
9. Self-inspection
10. Ability to read and understand Detailed engineering drawings and procedures
11. Experience of using various hand / air tools
12. Awareness and adherence to all the company Health & Safety procedures
13. High tolerance requirements (typically better than 0.05mm in various areas)
Key responsibilities of the role:
14. To work in accordance with 21 Aero methods & procedures
15. Complying with standard processes, specific area requirements and health & safety requirements
16. Taking progress and reporting to management when required - Providing input to shop floor meetings when requested
17. To play an active part in maintaining disciplines and continuous improvement activities
18. Provide support when required throughout company departments
19. From time to time, you may be asked to work off site; this may be in the UK or abroad
20. To participate in handover when requested, providing inputs to ensure job progression through shift change
Key skills & desirable knowledge:
21. Previous experience in application of decorative laminates
22. Previous experience in a Manual Handling Role
23. Manual Dexterity
24. Previous experience within a production/manufacturing environment with regular use of hand tools
25. Ability to follow procedures and work instructions / manuals.
26. Comfortable working to tight time frames with demanding quality requirements
27. Candidates must demonstrate previous experience of using their own initiative.
28. High attention to detail.
29. Ability to work from detailed drawings and electronic work instructions – within specific procedures.
30. Experience in industries such as space / aerospace / automotive / motorsport etc
31. Relevant experience in composite manufacture
The working hours are 0730 - 1630 Monday to Thursday and 0730 - 1230 on a Friday.
