Neonatal Nursery Nurse

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the neonatal team at the Special Care Baby Unit in Haywards Heath. The unit is an 8‑cot Level 1 SCUBU. You will work alongside the nursing team to provide excellent care to families and neonates, with some cross‑site working at the TMBU in Brighton, a 27‑cot Level 3 Surgical NICU. The role supports the safety and quality of care within the unit.

* Maintain an awareness of evidence base and best practice in nursing care
* Keep accurate and clear documentation

Job Responsibilities
* Deliver high quality, patient‑centred, compassionate care under the leadership and direction of a registered nurse (or other registered care professional).
* Work within all aspects of the nursing process, providing high quality holistic and person‑centred care.
* Support the registered nurse in the assessment, planning and evaluation of care with a focus on promoting health, independence and family integrated care.
* Carry out specific clinical and care tasks to a high standard and competency, under the leadership and direction of a registered nurse.
* Work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the plan of care, within the parameters of the role.

Qualifications
* Previous experience of working in an inpatient environment
* NVQ level 3
* Diploma in childcare
Experience
* Previous experience working with babies or children
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Ability to access computerised data
* Care planning skills
Knowledge and Skills
* Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
* Able to work under own initiative
Professional Registration
* Diploma in Child Care education
