JOB PROFILE
As a Data Engineer, you will work closely withProduct Managers, Data Analysts, and fellow Data Engineersto design and build systems that extract, transform, and deliver Creditsafe data.
You’ll be responsible for defining and buildingdata pipelinesthat enable faster, smarter, data-informed decision-making across the business and for our customers. This role offers exposure todistributed data architectures in AWS, working on scalable and high-performing data platforms.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Work as part of anAgile teamto develop, test, and maintain high-quality data processing systems that meet business needs
* Extract data from a variety of sources, includingrelational databases, files, and APIs
* Help evolve our data platform with a focus onscalability, growth, and high throughput
* Apply engineering best practices such ascontinuous integration and test-driven developmentto support rapid delivery
* Design and buildmetadata-driven data pipelinesusingPython and SQL, in line with Data Architecture guidelines
* Independently delivermedium to large features, using industry-standard data processing patterns
The responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive, and you may be asked to take on additional reasonable duties as required by your line manager.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience designing and buildingautonomous, fault-tolerant data pipelines
* Strong commercial experience developingproduction-grade ETL and ELT pipelines in Python
* Experience implementing data architectures in analytical data warehouses such asSnowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
* Hands-on experience with data orchestration tools such asAirflow
* Knowledge ofAgile development methodologies
* Awareness ofcloud technologies, particularlyAWS
* Understanding ofautomated delivery and CI/CD processes
* Strong engineering fundamentals, includingerror handling, logging, monitoring, and fault-tolerant design
* Ability to write efficient code and carry outperformance optimisation and tuning
* Comfortable working with relational databases such asOracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL
* Exposure todbtanddata quality testing frameworks
* Awareness ofInfrastructure as Codetools such asTerraform and Ansible
