What you will enjoy doing
1. In this role, you will provide leadership within the UK & Ireland business to identify, develop and implement appropriate strategies & plans to ensure that large rotating business critical machinery is procured, operated and maintained safely, reliably and efficiently
2. You will work with operating sites, Remote Operating Centre (ROC), Equipment Health Centre (EHC) and central engineering staff, review and analyse equipment condition, downtime figures & other operational data to identify recurring themes and develop strategies to improve reliability and efficiency.
3. In addition, you will build and maintain strong relationships with key outsource providers & ensure they provide value for money services through the development of service contracts, regular communication & coordination of performance review meetings
4. Keep abreast of technology advancements, latest equipment design, upgrade potentials, service trends and industry best practice to identify and then evaluate reliability and efficiency improvement opportunities
5. You will investigate unplanned events, carry out Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), prepare and share lessons appropriately
What makes you great
6. You have a Mechanical Engineering degree.
7. Chartership desired but not essential.
8. In addition, you have analytical skills, root cause analysis, finding solutions to engineering/ reliability problems.
9. You have experience in reading and understanding P&ID's, engineering drawings, manuals, maintenance instructions.
10. Furthermore, you have proven capability to mentor and develop operational staff in role related skills.
11. Extensive experience with large rotating machine operation, maintenance, trouble shooting, specification and commissioning in a related industrial environment.
12. Experience of using equipment such as ADRE and BN systems, vibration analysis & balancing techniques.
13. Experience with electric motors, control systems, cryogenic pumps and turbines is not essential but would be an advantage.
14. You have a high degree of competence, understanding and experience of Safety, Health, Environment & Quality concepts, management and standards.
15. Must have a high level of personal integrity.
