Position Overview:
Supply Desk is proud to be working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Salisbury to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher. This exciting opportunity begins in September 2025, initially on a long-term basis until December 2025, with strong potential for a permanent placement for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, within a supportive and collaborative English department. This role is well-suited for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as well as experienced practitioners. The school is also open to applications from unqualified teachers or those with relevant secondary English teaching experience.

Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver creative and effective English lessons that cater to a diverse range of learning styles and abilities
* Promote a love of literature, reading, and language across the student body
* Mark and assess students' work in line with departmental and national standards, providing timely and constructive feedback
* Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour, engagement, and achievement
* Participate actively in the wider life of the school, including parents’ evenings, trips, and extracurricular clubs

What We’re Looking For:
* A degree in English Literature, English Language, or a closely related subject (essential)
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification (preferred)
* A strong understanding of the English curriculum at KS3 and KS4
* Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young learners
* Effective classroom management and clear communication skills
* A commitment to inclusive education and ongoing professional development
