About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Asset and Investment Planning team as a Property Project Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a diverse and interesting range of construction projects across the Council’s Corporate Property portfolio including education, leisure and community assets.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in delivering both large and small projects across the Council and experiencing how the Council’s Leadership make decisions to enable positive change in the borough.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
The Corporate Property Asset and Investment Planning Team is a small but key part of the Council’s Asset Strategy division. You will report to the Asset and Investment Planning Manager and, although you will have no one reporting directly to you, you will work closely with other Property Project Managers and an Asset and Investment Planning Officer. You will also work closely with key project stakeholders and the Council’s appointed consultants and contractors.
Sitting within the Housing, Planning and Economic Regeneration directorate, the team is outward facing, meaning that you will get a chance to work closely with colleagues from many departments, not only learning about new services but giving you the opportunity to deliver quality projects that support the community in line with our One Hounslow ethos.
Residents are at the heart of our work at Hounslow. Through our continual capital investment, we are delivering construction projects that provide support, opportunities and improvements across the borough that make a difference for our residents.
About You
If the points below resonate with you, we’d love you to put in an application:
* You have experience managing construction projects or programmes in a complex environment, such as a public sector organisation, within planned timescales, budgets and the required quality.
* You have experience of providing technical services, reports and professional advice to Council directorates and services on all investment, maintenance and construction project related matters.
* You are experienced at leading procurements to appoint contractors and advisors in line with legislation and relevant policies and procedures.
* You are an expert communicator able to communicate complex concepts and issues clearly and simply to a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation.
* Your written skills enable you to both deliver reports yourself and support others to improve their reports, including on topics that you may not be familiar with.
* You have a range of IT skills and can format presentations and spreadsheets for a range of audiences, ensuring key information is selected and clearly laid out.
Essential For The Role
Enhanced DBS check is required for the role.
You must hold a degree or equivalent (minimum BTEC HNC/HND) in the field of construction or have demonstrable work-based experience that evidences an equivalent level of attainment and competence, with a substantial experience in delivering construction-related projects.
