What You Will Do
The Production Manager will plan, direct, coordinate and oversee the production activities at the Aberdeen plant ensuring the development and implementation of efficient production and cost‑effective systems to meet current and future needs of the plant.
Production & Operations
* Plan and manage daily production activities to meet customer demand, quality standards, and business requirements
* Manage production resources to optimise labour, equipment, and materials, improving efficiency and reducing downtime
* Lead daily production meetings and provide accurate inputs to Daily Operations and Daily Planning meetings
* Ensure production documentation, batch records, permits, and SAP transactions are accurate and completed on time
* Act as a Permit Issuer and Area of Authority
* Provide up‑to‑date operational information to support effective planning and decision‑making
People Leadership & Development
* Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to the Production Team
* Ensure operators and supervisors are competent, trained, and authorised to perform their roles safely
* Develop personnel through training plans, cross‑skilling, allocation of projects, and on‑the‑job mentoring
* Manage staffing levels, overtime, and shift coverage in line with operational needs
* Address performance, conduct, and engagement issues in a timely, fair, and consistent manner
* Cascade key messages and priorities from Daily Operations Meetings and other forums
Safety, Quality & Compliance
* Implement and maintain compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS), SOPs, and work instructions
* Support and participate in Management of Change (MOC), PHA, HAZID, and HAZOP activities, ensuring production risks are identified and controlled
* Partner with Quality to address deviations, non‑conformances, and customer complaints
* Promote Right First‑Time production, strong housekeeping standards, and 5S
* Carry out checks on operational paperwork raised by colleagues to prevent errors and non‑compliance
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
* Present performance metrics, issues, and improvement actions to Plant and Senior Management
* Actively support and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on OEE, yield, waste reduction, and cycle time
* Represent the Plant at operational meetings, audits, and cross‑functional forums as required
Incident Management & Investigation
* Participate in and support incident and near‑miss investigations, ensuring actions are identified, implemented, and communicated
* Promote learning from incidents to prevent recurrence
* Carry out any other reasonable duties consistent with the role, as assigned by the Plant Manager
Physical Demands
This role requires working in a chemical manufacturing plant.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a related subject and/or equivalent 5 years of applicable working experience in production, manufacturing and/or engineering within a plant environment with a minimum of 3 years of direct leadership/management experience

* Ability to effectively manage projects through all stages
* Demonstrate process improvement experience
* B3 Forklift certificate
