The Role
* Communication & Networking
o Effective handover with previous/next shift manager to pass on critical information on previous shift and next shift.
o Communicate any critical information with crew members and provide target information at the start of shift.
o Inform planning of any delays/shortages and attend 10am and 3pm meetings.
o Reject bad sheets +200 back to sheet feeding using an NCR form and claim downtime over 30 mins from sheet feeding, liaising with Quality.
o Fill out hazards, near misses, accident forms immediately after an incident occurs.
* Monitor
o View live production output rates using SFDC Supervisor and track machine targets throughout the day.
o Use PSA to track run order logic against deliveries, colours, anilox changes, and forme changes.
o Record significant issues such as downtime hours, speed losses, and defects, noting order numbers and photos when possible.
o Watch WIP lines to prevent the strapper filling up.
* Influence/Decisions/Solutions
o Act as the most senior person on site and make decisions using the quality control plan as reference.
o Consult other managers if unsure and provide the necessary information for decision making.
* Safety & Environment
o Avoid putting people or the environment at risk by refusing unsafe activities or stopping them.
o Ensure the site is secure during opening and closing, including machine shutdowns.
