JOB SUMMARY As a Power Systems Engineer, you will conduct detailed power system analyses and support the design and implementation of electrical infrastructure. This role involves performing simulations, designing reactive power compensation systems, conducting fault and transient studies, and ensuring grid compliance according to national and industry standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES INCLUDE Perform power system analyses, including: Load flow studies Reactive power capability and compensation equipment sizing/specification Short-circuit/fault level studies and equipment rating Voltage control and reactive power stability Frequency response (LFSM-O, LFSM-U, FSM) Fault Ride Through (FRT) and Fast Fault Current Injection (FFCI) Harmonic analysis (G5/4 or G5/5) and filter design Electromagnetic transients, transformer energisation, voltage fluctuations, flicker, AC system voltage variations, insulation coordination, protection coordination, and arc flash assessment Attend site visits to support construction teams as required. Organise and participate in internal and external design review meetings. Ensure all designs adhere to the project Employer’s Requirements (ERs), policies, and applicable standards. Maintain accurate design documentation and ensure alignment with the project programme of works. Be aware of project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables tied to milestone payments. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Proven experience in Power System Studies. Proficiency with DIgSILENT, PSCAD, and PSSe software tools. Strong understanding of the Grid Code and compliance processes. Knowledge of standards such as ENA EREC G99, ENA EREC G5, G74, and NFPA 70E.
