Job Description:
The Role
Scantech Offshore is looking for Offshore Engineers to join their team on a permanent basis. This role involves significant travel and working away on an ad-hoc basis, so flexibility is essential.
The purpose of the Offshore Technician is to operate, service, and maintain the hire fleet following Scantech Offshore Maintenance procedures.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Prepare equipment to meet Hire Office requirements.
* Follow service procedures and standards according to company guidelines.
* Maintain safety standards as per Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
* Package, maintain, and operate company equipment onshore and offshore as required, following company procedures.
* Complete service reports, manage spares stock, and prepare handover sheets.
* Maintain livery, decals, signage, calibrate safety devices, carry out inspections, and pressure test hoses as needed.
* Work safely in accordance with safety regulations.
* Maintain professionalism and courtesy towards customers and colleagues.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager, within a reasonable timeframe, ensuring safety and competence.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
Essential:
* NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Qualification or equivalent.
* Experience working in offshore or overseas environments.
* Computer literacy (Word & Excel).
* Offshore Survival training.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
* Mechanical experience (automotive, diesel engines, heavy plant).
Preferred:
* Additional training in quality assurance, diesel engines, shutdown systems, pressure testing, manual handling, COSHH, working at heights, risk assessment, steam boilers, air compressors, and H2S awareness.
* Experience as a diesel or steam boiler mechanic.
The Person:
You should be able to build good rapport with clients, communicate effectively, and demonstrate adaptability and problem-solving skills. Flexibility to work offshore on an ad-hoc basis is required.
