If you’re an established HSE Advisor who enjoys being visible on site, influencing positive change and partnering with operational teams – this could be your next move. Reporting into the HSE Manager, you’ll be the go-to HSE presence for our Stoke Gifford depot, supporting the effective management and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
This is a hands‑on, people‑facing role where you’ll have real ownership, credibility on site and the opportunity to shape how HSE is embedded day to day – not just audited from afar.
Some key responsibilities
* Championing a proactive, positive HSE culture across the depot
* Supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of HSE systems and procedures
* Leading on risk assessments, investigations and corrective actions
* Delivering HSE training, briefings and toolbox talks
* Conducting regular site inspections, audits and safety tours
* Managing environmental compliance, waste, pollution control and sustainability initiatives
* Supporting internal audits and maintaining legal and compliance registers
* Acting as a trusted advisor to managers, engineers and external stakeholders
* Deputising for the HSE Manager when required
About you
You’re an experienced and confident HSE professional who enjoys being visible, approachable and influential on site.
You’ll bring:
* Experience in HSE within an engineering, manufacturing or similar complex environment
* NEBOSH Certificate and a relevant Environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA)
* Working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and environmental permitting
* Experience as an internal auditor
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage at all levels
* A practical, solution‑focused mindset with high personal standards
* A collaborative approach and genuine passion for keeping people safe
