Female Support Workers – Residential Children's Home
The Hiring Hive are recruiting female Support Workers for a residential children's home that supports young people with needs linked to emotional and behavioural difficulties, often as a result of loss, trauma, or abuse.
This role will be offered as a Temp-to-Perm placement through The Hiring Hive. You'll start on an agency contract for the first 12 weeks, giving both you and the employer time to ensure it's the right fit. After this period, and if both sides are happy, you'll transfer onto a permanent contract directly with the home.
You'll be supporting young people with a range of complex needs, including:
* Social and emotional difficulties
* Attachment disorder
* Criminal exploitation
* Child sexual exploitation
* Substance misuse
Your role will include:
* Providing 2:1 support to children and young people within the home
* Implementing individual support plans
* Encouraging social, educational, and emotional development
* Working collaboratively as part of a supportive team
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting young people to develop social relationships
* Encouraging independence in life skills
* Promoting participation in education and recreational activities
* Contributing to well-being, health, safety, and security
* Maintaining clear records and assisting with assessments
Essential Criteria:
* Compassion, empathy, and dedication
* Willingness to complete required training
* Experience in maintaining accurate records
* Strong communication skills
* Full driving licence, access to a car, and business insurance
Desirable:
* Training in areas such as Emergency First Aid, Food Hygiene etc.
* Basic IT skills and good written English
