Our client, a leading educational institution in the area, is seeking an exceptional individual who is committed to providing exceptional support and guidance to students with diverse learning needs. In this rewarding role, you will have the chance to work closely with a team of dedicated educators, therapists, and support staff to ensure that every student receives the personalised attention and resources they need to thrive.

As a Learning Support Assistant (SEN), you will be responsible for collaborating with teachers to develop and implement tailored learning strategies, providing one-on-one and small group support, and assisting in the creation of engaging and inclusive lesson plans. You will also play a vital role in monitoring student progress, communicating with parents and caregivers, and contributing to the overall wellbeing and academic success of the students in your care.

Key Responsibilities

Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, including those with learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and behavioural challenges
Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement individualised learning plans and strategies that cater to the unique needs of each student
Assisting in the creation of engaging and inclusive lesson plans that promote active participation and foster a positive learning environment
Monitoring student progress and maintaining detailed records of their performance, behaviour, and development
Communicating regularly with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns
Participating in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest best practices in special education
Contributing to the overall wellbeing and success of students by providing emotional support, encouraging independence, and promoting social integration

Qualifications And Experience

A relevant qualification in special education, child development, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Learning Support Assistant (SEN) or in a similar role
Demonstrated understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by students with special educational needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure
Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to the diverse needs of students and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest best practices in special education
