About The Role
Shift Pattern: Thursday to Sunday 07:30 - 17:30
General Aims
* Provide and maintain an efficient service to all areas under your control following best practice within the company ethos.
* Comply with food safety and health & safety legislation in all operations of responsibility.
* Operate the company’s business to meet business objectives within the framework of best practice following the company’s policies and procedures.
* Maintain high standards of personal appearance and dress, as laid down in the Colleague Handbook, and offer service in a polite, efficient, and professional manner.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
* Ensure the provision of food and beverages to the highest standard within the financial limitations set for your contract.
* Order foodstuffs in accordance with requirements, using nominated suppliers.
* Produce food items required within your unit to meet the standards laid down by the company and the client, in line with the contractual agreement.
* Ensure all foodstuffs are prepared and packaged following the company Food Safety System and current legislation.
* Charge for all sales at prices agreed by your line manager/the client.
* Hold all monies received in a secure place and keep cash and stock levels within target figures.
* Keep cash purchases to a minimum, observing financial targets set by the Operations Manager.
* Prepare records of sales and complete required company bookwork in line with bookkeeping systems.
* Monitor performance weekly/monthly by taking stock and ensure bookwork is submitted by set deadlines.
* Attend weekly meetings with the client and hold team meetings as appropriate.
* Comply with all company policies and regulations in respect of Health and Safety at Work and maintain high standards of kitchen practice and hygiene.
* Maintain a cleaning rota to ensure hygiene standards are met.
* Recruit and induct team members, ensuring adequate structure and staffing across locations.
* Induct and train new team members, supervise performance, and support online learning with mandatory training completed within timescales.
* Ensure team members receive annual appraisals and identify training and development needs.
* Carry out disciplinary action when required, following Company policies and consulting the Operations Manager and HR.
* Communicate with the client via the Operations Manager and escalate hazards or sub-standard equipment as needed.
* Promote good customer relations and handle complaints professionally and promptly.
* Organise special days/events/promotions to promote the facilities and Company’s name.
* Ensure sufficient team coverage during holiday and sickness and promote ongoing learning and development.
* Guard against pilferage and ensure appropriate use of monies, goods, and equipment.
* Any work or food preparation of a personal nature on the client’s premises requires express permission from the client and Company.
