Network Manager
Salary: £65,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)
Hours: Full time - 35 hours
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid Working (Head Office, West Bromwich)
The West Brom are looking to recruit a Network Manager who will report into our Head of IT Operations and IT delivery. The individual will work towards the societies business and IT strategy. We have a programme of projects planned to fortify the current estate, twined with a programme of innovation and transformation, M365, Azure, SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS.
This role will suit a technical professional, who is people-focused and can drive the delivery of modern network solutions, leading a technical team of 4 that specialises in varying technologies and are supported by a 3rd party network supplier, it’s a small, tightly knit team, there is an expectation that you will roll your sleeves up and get involved in the day to day technical work, you’ll have a solid technical background and experience of Cisco, Fortinet, and bluecoat network technologies.
An inspirational leader, motivator, and people manager with experience in project delivery, team management, good organisational skills, and the ability to handle a variety of tasks and priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing 3rd party network supplier
2. Managing technical teams in a BAU and project driven environment.
3. Effective staff performance management, including 121s, career development, and performance improvement plans.
4. Deliver technical leadership across the full project lifecycle ensuring that the technical solutions meet the business needs.
5. Translate the business vision; set meaningful targets for the team and individuals, aligned with IT and business objectives.
6. Represent the technology stack, to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
7. Consult and lead workshops, effectively translating technical information in a business context.
8. Work with the project managers in resource planning and help resolve technical issues on projects when required.
9. Deliver Management Information and reporting (KPI, SLA, project progress).
Skills and Experience Required:
10. Proactive / versatile individual who enjoys working in fast paced and / or ever-changing environment.
11. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with non-technical staff over technical issues.
12. Have excellent influencing skills to enable them to remove blockers and influence some key stakeholders, who may be resistant to change.
13. Used to working within an ITIL environment.
14. Previous experience of managing 3rd party network suppliers.
15. Knowledge and experience of Service Reviews
16. Previous knowledge of:
o Vlan’s.
o Switching.
o Firewalls.
o Network management.
o Maintenance, updates, patching.
o Load balancing technologies.
o Cross site replication.
o Network access control.
o Network design.
o Communication protocols within LAN/WAN/VLAN environments.
