Join to apply for the Digital Audit Graduate Programme (Autumn 2026) - Cambridge role at ACCA Careers

The UK member firms of Grant Thornton are part of a global network of independent audit, tax and advisory firms. We are a team of independent thinkers who put quality, inclusion and integrity first, delivering a different experience to clients worldwide—personal, proactive and agile.

Job Description

Real responsibility. Real impact. Right from the start. Auditors are investigators, problem-solvers, and trusted advisers who dive deep into how businesses operate to ensure the numbers tell the real story. This role sits in our Digital Audit team, helping solve client challenges with cutting-edge AI and digital tools and shaping the digital landscape of audit.

What you’ll do is learn by doing, with strong support and an opportunity to develop through a three-year audit graduate programme designed to lead toward a professional qualification.

What You’ll Do

* Hands-on coding, developing and improving audit software solutions used across projects, ensuring quality, accuracy and compliance with auditing standards.
* Engage with emerging technologies such as data analytics, AI and machine learning to create dynamic audit solutions.
* Take ownership of coding tasks contributing to larger audit projects and delivering impactful results.
* Collaborate with audit teams to provide clients with insightful data analysis and software-driven audit results.
* Develop a diverse skill set with exposure to different audit areas, working with specialists in data, risk and financial reporting.
* Use data and technology to spot trends, identify anomalies and support findings.
* Stay up to date with regulations, develop professional judgement, and build mentoring relationships across the firm.
* Study with dedicated time and a team mindset to support you toward a professional qualification.

You have the option of studying towards the ACA, a level 6 digital technology solutions apprenticeship or a level 6 data scientist degree apprenticeship. If you have studied something similar before, pursuing a Level 7 applied data analytics apprenticeship may be more appropriate to recognise prior knowledge. While we have preferred routes, we’re open to other relevant qualifications, accreditations or apprenticeships.

Who We’re Looking For

We have a flexible approach to academic entry requirements and will consider these alongside your strengths and motivations. We’re looking for people who want to contribute, spark fresh ideas and go beyond expectations.

* Curious minds who explore ideas and ask thoughtful questions.
* Innovative problem solvers who turn data into meaningful insights.
* Collaborative partners who work respectfully and build trust with others.
* Effective communicators who listen, adapt and express ideas clearly.
* Self-leaders who manage time, mindset and energy effectively.
* Career-minded contributors who take initiative and are motivated to grow.

What You’ll Get

* Fully funded professional qualification, including paid study leave, expert tuition, and all course fees covered.
* Technology to support your learning and client work.
* Dedicated support network from managers and mentors to college tutors guiding you every step of the way.
* Working with a digital-first approach that balances life, learning and work.
* Exclusive discounts on shopping, gyms and wellbeing services.
* Opportunities to give back through mentoring, volunteering or fundraising initiatives.
* Competitive salary and benefits package, including extras such as holiday options, life assurance and private medical insurance.

What We Expect From You

As part of your training, you’ll receive study leave to support completing your professional qualification. This is a substantial commitment and will involve studying in your spare time outside of work. You will also be provided with study leave in the run-up to exams. You’ll need to stay focused, committed and organised to balance the requirements of being a trainee.
