Hours:

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, this role requires a minimum Head Office presence of 3 days a week. Please note our Head Office is located in Skipton, North Yorkshire.


Salary:

£32,350 Per Annum

In this world of data driven results and outcomes; the role of Distribution Operations and Governance Senior is ever more important to help the Society achieve its objectives, supporting key areas across Homes and Money Direct, the Branch Network and Operations.

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our team, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting product launches, and driving operational excellence.

You will be joining the Operational Support team, made up of 15 colleagues including 2 Specialists, 5 Seniors and 8 Consultants. We are a central function that ensures the Society meets its regulatory and operational commitments, working closely with regulators and teams across Savings, Mortgages, Engineering and beyond. Our work ranges from User Acceptance Testing for system changes & annual events, implementation of local system to Static Data & Workflow to the submission of regulatory returns and supporting new product launches. At the heart of what we do is protecting the organisation, supporting business growth and ensuring a smooth experience for our customers

What Will You Be Doing?

* Regulatory Compliance - Prepare and submit accurate returns to HMRC, FCA, Bank of England, and FSCS

* Product & Event Support - Lead on operational delivery of savings/mortgage product launches and annual events like Tax Year-End and Mortgage Statements

* Risk & Quality Assurance - Conduct risk checks on team outputs, ensuring compliance and supporting audit actions.

* Change & Testing - Provide UAT expertise, support system changes, and test key processes to ensure smooth implementation.

* Stakeholder Engagement - Liaise with third-party suppliers, mortgage intermediaries, and regulatory bodies.

* Continuous Improvement - Champion process enhancements, support governance, and contribute to team development.

You'll also:

* Support the Distribution Operations Leader and Governance Lead

* Provide backup on the eMortgage helpdesk

* Help manage operational communications and small change requests

* Actively develop your skills and share knowledge across the team

What Do We Need From You?

The ideal candidate will be technically minded, organised and focused on results. Having an ability to adapt to changes in workloads, processes or team priorities as well as being able to investigate, analyse and agree solutions independently. Stakeholder management is an important part of the role so you will be comfortable in building relationships with people at all levels.

Skills:

* Confident communicator – able to influence, persuade and interpret complex information

* Ability to challenge where appropriate and provide feedback to stakeholders

* Comfortable in leading and managing change

Knowledge:

* Solid understanding of Operational and Distribution processes

* Familiarity with testing frameworks, governance, and documentation standards

* Working knowledge of SBS policies, procedures, and change management processes

Experience:

* Proven ability to deliver results, identifying and implementing process and business-related improvements

* Leadership including planning team objectives, coaching and managing performance
