Overview
Our client, a well-established secondary school in Wandsworth, Greater London, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced KS3 English Lead to join their dedicated team of educators. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of the KS3 English curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences for all students. As the KS3 English Lead, you will shape the department's strategy and vision, working closely with the Head of Department and other subject leaders to create a cohesive and engaging curriculum. You will be expected to lead by example, delivering outstanding lessons that inspire and motivate students to develop a love for the English language and literature.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a coherent and engaging KS3 English curriculum
* Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the KS3 English department
* Provide guidance and support to colleagues, promoting best practices and innovative teaching strategies
* Analyse student performance data to inform curriculum planning and intervention strategies
* Collaborate with other subject leaders to ensure a consistent approach to literacy across the school
* Contribute to the wider life of the school through involvement in extracurricular activities and events
Qualifications and requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in English or a related field
* Proven experience in teaching English at the secondary level, with a strong track record of student progress and attainment
* Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for English language and literature
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in using data to inform teaching and learning strategies
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the latest educational trends and research
