Purpose of the role
The General Manager
is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the hometel.
They are also responsible for managing colleagues and for planning, with the
support of Head Office teams, on-site marketing
activity, coordination and administration of accommodation, food and beverage
and meeting & events facilitates. They are responsible for making sure that
all areas of the hometel environment run smoothly and work cohesively to run a
successful operation.

* Recruit, induct and train new members of the
team and assist across the wider business
* Create inspiring, culturally led experiential
events & workshops
* Implement all room2 standard operating
procedures
* Deliver an engaged and positive environment for your team work
* Coach and train your team to empower them
day-to-day and help their growth & development in Room2 through objectives
and personal development plans
* Maintenance
* Lead on HR-related items like disciplinary and
investigations
* Direct and lead your team to create ‘can’t wait
to return’ experiences for our guests
* Ensure that all guest communications are
answered within a timely manner - HiJiffy, emails, telephone calls and online
messages
* Manage online reputation and presence by
responding to reviews and contributing to social media campaign ideas and
content with the Head of Ops
* Hold regular individual and team meetings to ensure

ways to help enhance the local area
* Have a keen interest in the local business
potential and ensure local guidelines are followed
* Ensure that your hometel is recommended as a
great place to work
* Manage purchasing decisions, purchase orders and
management of invoices
* Oversee the payments, ledger and invoicing
process
* Manage, review and forecast hotel P&L budget
* Introduce potential partners and collaboration

* Recognise sales opportunities and train your
team to deliver on these
* Be on call for management responsibilities when
required

Skills & Qualities
* Solid foundation in hotel general management
* Experience in diverse areas, including food and
beverage, housekeeping, and event planning
* Proven experience managing and motivating teams,
handling staffing issues, and fostering a positive work culture
* Strong track record of ensuring guest
satisfaction and resolving complaints
* Experience in budgeting, revenue management, and
cost control
* Familiarity with hotel management software
* Ability to handle high-pressure situations and
make sound decisions
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
