GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The People function in Ocean Winds UK look after a variety of general HR functions including, but not limited to employee relations, training, compensation and benefits, recruitment, and other related areas.
The People Intern will join the UK People team in supporting with a variety of daily responsibilities within the People function, most importantly supporting Diversity, Equity, &, Inclusion (DEI) Initiatives, Recruitment & Selection activities and general HR tasks.
If you have an interest in HR and Renewable energy, this paid internship will provide an excellent view of the People function within an exciting company that builds, develops, and owns offshore wind farms. Alongside your day-to-day tasks, you will also get an insight into ongoing projects within OW UK and coordinate with other functions and levels within the company.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Supporting with recruitment & selection; screening CV’s, speaking with candidates and Hiring Managers, and arranging interviews.
* Gathering HR information for special projects and new initiatives.
* Work with other departments within Ocean Winds, such as Health & Safety, Stakeholder Management and more, to coordinate employee programs.
* Help to find new and better ways and procedures for the current existing processes and initiatives of the department.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:
* Currently studying (or recently 12 months graduated) for an Undergraduate degree in HR Management, Psychology, Law, Business Administration or similar.
KNOWLEDGE:
* MS office and MS Excel
* Knowledge of basic HR principles or experience in a similar role, would be advantageous but it is not necessary as we will give you all the training required to succeed.
SKILLS:
* Organised and diligent with an ability to balance multiple priorities
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment in a multi-disciplinary team across a number of specialist areas and organisational cultures
* A self-starter with a proactive approach who is attentive to detail and has strong written communication skills
* Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the project team
LANGUAGES: Ocean Winds has an international team of employees, and the working language is English. Candidates need to be fluent in English both spoken and written. Other languages will be valued.
LOCATION/ MOBILITY: The UK has offices in Edinburgh, Fraserburgh, and Buckie. Some travel may be required however this will be communicated to you during the interview process.
SALARY: Paid Internship
WORKING PATTERN: Full-time (40 hours per week), and part-time working will be considered.
INTERNSHIP DATES: June/ July 2025 till December 2025 (with the possibility of extension).
