As Assistant Kitchen Manager, you’ll be key to maintaining kitchen excellence while coaching a team committed to quality, pace, and pride in every plate. Your Role in a Nutshell As Assistant Kitchen Manager, you’ll support the Kitchen Manager in leading a fast-paced kitchen environment with energy, structure, and a relentless commitment to standards. You'll coach and guide the BOH team to deliver food that delights our guests, while ensuring safety, compliance, and consistency in every corner of the kitchen. This is a hands-on leadership role that balances daily service excellence with long-term team development and operational control. Your Core Responsibilities Team Support & Coaching Lead shifts with clarity and confidence, ensuring smooth prep, service, and close. Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of BOH team members. Actively coach team members on spec-perfect dish execution and kitchen standards. Foster a culture of pride, energy, and mutual respect in the kitchen. Food Execution & Service Standards Deliver consistent dishes: right portion, right temperature, right every time. Support high-volume throughput while maintaining quality and pace. Drive readiness for new menu launches, tastings, and training. Work with FOH partners to create seamless guest experiences from pass to plate. Controls, Safety & Compliance Support food safety standards: HACCP, allergens, cleaning logs. Maintain daily and weekly compliance documentation. Monitor and action stock control processes including ordering, waste tracking, and reconciliation. Champion kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and operational readiness.
