Role overview:

We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (9-month fixed-term contract) to join the Engineering Technical Operations group, supporting the PlayStation Partners Platform.

The PlayStation Partners Platform powers applications used globally by content creators to develop, publish and manage content on the PlayStation platform - including games, apps, movies, music, and more. This is a critical ecosystem supporting PlayStation’s global business.

The ideal candidate has experience leading complex cloud-based programs across enterprise environments, with a strong focus on improving efficiency, agility, reliability, and operational excellence. If you thrive in ambiguity, enjoy aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and are passionate about driving meaningful outcomes at scale, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a senior individual contributor role, working closely with Directors, Engineering Managers, TPMs, and SRE/Operations teams to drive cloud platform initiatives, service reliability improvements, and developer experience enhancements. This role will play a key part in sustaining and advancing the Partner Platform during a critical period of transformation. You will operate at the intersection of engineering delivery, operational excellence, and developer enablement ensuring the platform remains resilient, scalable, and aligned with PlayStation’s global ambitions.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Stakeholder Management & Communication

* Translate ambiguous business and technical requirements into structured, executable engineering plans.
* Drive cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Operations, Product, Security, and external stakeholders.
* Communicate program health, risks, milestones, and outcomes clearly to leadership.
* Partner with service owners to balance reliability, feature delivery, and cost optimization.
* Provide transparency through clear, metric-driven reporting.

Program & Delivery Management

* Lead structured delivery of complex programs (roadmaps, dependencies, risk mitigation, sequencing).
* Coordinate work across a globally distributed operations team to ensure predictable and safe delivery.
* Plan and execute cross-platform initiatives (e.g., major upgrades, reliability improvements, cost optimization, modernization efforts).
* Monitor program health and adjust plans based on shifting priorities.
* Ensure objectives are measurable and aligned with business outcomes.
* Facilitate delivery cadences (stand-ups, sprint planning, status reviews) and drive accountability.
* Capture and socialize lessons learned to improve planning and operational rigor.

Technical Scope & Context

* Strong understanding of SRE and platform operations practices:
o Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
o CI/CD automation (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD)
o Compliance and lifecycle management (patching, upgrades)
o Cloud platforms (AWS preferred; GCP/Azure familiarity beneficial)
1. Familiarity with enterprise-scale production systems and operational excellence frameworks.
2. Understanding of observability, reliability engineering principles (SLA/SLO/SLI), and cost optimization practices.

What We’re Looking For:

* 7+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Engineering Management, or a related technical role.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* Proven experience working closely with Operations, SRE, or Platform Engineering teams.
* Strong ability to decompose ambiguity into structured, sequenced workstreams. Demonstrated success driving complex cross-team programs.
* Exceptional communication skills; comfortable influencing engineering and executive audiences.
* Experience operating in agile environments across distributed teams.
* Comfortable facilitating workshops, retrospectives, and decision forums.
* Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and related systems.
* Customer-centric mindset with an understanding of service reliability and experience.
* Interest in gaming, digital entertainment, or consumer technology is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience leading enterprise-scale modernization or migration programs.
* Background in software engineering, architecture, or data engineering.
* Experience working across multiple regions and time zones.
* Industry certifications (PMP, Scrum, Agile, SAFe) are advantageous but not required.
* Experience with:
* Observability tools (Splunk, Datadog, CloudWatch, Domo, Tableau)
* CI/CD and artifact tooling (Terraform, GitHub, Artifactory, Jenkins)
* Reliability engineering principles (SLA/SLO/SLI)
