About the Role
Personal assistant to support me accessing the community and keep me safe whilst out. I have epilepsy with various levels of seizures so you must be experienced in working with individuals with epilepsy and be able to demonstrate your knowledge of seizure identification.
Key Responsibilities
* Personal Care Support – There are no personal care duties in this role, but I may require prompts or assistance after seizures.
* Daily Living Support – Assistance with social activities and accessing the community. I manage my own medication, but you must be able to identify my medications and what they are prescribed for. I enjoy trips to Newcastle, bowling, the beach in warmer months, arcades, Spanish City, cinema, comedy, gaming, music, TV.
* Mobility & Transport – Support to access and navigate public transport. Full, clean UK driving licence is essential if you are a driver.
Who You Are
* Physically fit – must be fit enough to support my body weight and keep me safe.
* Able to follow instructions carefully and work with sensitivity.
* Respectful of boundaries and personal space.
* Must have experience working with adults with epilepsy and understand mental health and how it can present.
