Salary: Scale 6: £24,725.46 - £26,420.53 (actual pro rata salaries)

Hours: 35 hours per week - 8.30am 4pm, term time only

Contract Type: Permanent - Part Time

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Safeguarding & Welfare Officer to join our dynamic Inclusion and Safeguarding Team.

In this vital role, you will:

Promote the welfare, wellbeing, and mental health of our students.
Work closely with pupils, families, and external agencies to provide coordinated support.
Monitor student attendance and identify patterns of concern.
Offer guidance and support to parents and carers.
Act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), playing a key role in safeguarding procedures and ensuring compliance with safeguarding legislation and best practices.

You will be an empathetic and resilient individual with experience in safeguarding and welfare support, ideally within an educational setting. Excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of child protection legislation, and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders are essential.

You will:

Have experience in a safeguarding role
Be reflective, caring and emotionally resilient
Have effective, clear communication and interpersonal skills
Have at least a grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Have a good record of punctuality and attendance

Skills required:

Responsible and trustworthy
Designated Safeguarding Lead trained
Caring and good at relating to children
Calm and efficient in emergencies
Energetic and creative
Patient
Good at juggling competing demands for attention
Open-minded about different ways of educating children
Good communication skills
