Field Service Engineer – Inverness & North Scotland
£32,000 + Overtime + Bonuses + Van + Full Training
Monday to Friday
A long-established engineering company operating across Scotland is looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to join their growing service team. This is a full-time, field-based role covering Inverness and the surrounding region.
The company designs, installs and maintains precision mechanical and electronic systems used across a wide range of industrial and commercial environments. The work is varied, hands-on and offers excellent long-term prospects for an engineer who enjoys life on the road and solving problems on site.
The role involves maintenance, calibration, installation and fault-finding on a range of electro-mechanical equipment. No two days are the same — you could be working in a factory one day, on a construction or logistics site the next, or in a retail or agricultural setting.
Full training is provided — both through in-house mentoring (typically three months shadowing experienced engineers) and accredited external courses such as Health & Safety, Confined Spaces and Manual Handling.
The role would suit:
An engineer with mechanical, electrical or mechatronics experience (e.g. field service, maintenance, forklift truck, weighing systems, or instrumentation backgrounds)
Someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and being out on the road visiting customer sites
Either an experienced engineer or someone early in their career with an HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
Requirements:
Full UK driving licence (company van provided)
HNC or equivalent in a mechanical, electrical or related field
Strong fault-finding and customer service skills
Willingness to travel and work independently
Package:
£32,000 base salary
Regular overtime and performance bonuses
Company van (for business use)
Comprehensive training and career development
Monday to Friday working hours
This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy and working directly with customers in the field.
