NHS Lothian Clinical Health Psychology Service is advertising a permanent 0.5 WTE Band 8A Applied Psychologist post, based within the HIV/Sexual Health Psychology Service at the Chalmers Centre in Edinburgh.
Position Overview
This post involves the oversight and day‑to‑day operation of the HIV Psychology Service and the provision of clinical supervision to the Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology. It also supports the wider Sexual Health teams at Chalmers, including case consultation, reflective practice, teaching, audit, supervision of clinicians in the Choices team, and consultation to the Women’s Inclusive Sexual Health Extended Service (WISHES) and Roam Outreach teams.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the day‑to‑day operation of the HIV Psychology Service.
* Provide clinical supervision to the Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology.
* Support Sexual Health teams at Chalmers through case consultation, reflective practice, teaching, audit, and training.
* Supervise clinicians in the Choices (termination of pregnancy) team.
* Consult to WISHES (Women’s Inclusive Sexual Health Extended Service) and Roam Outreach teams.
Eligibility & Requirements
* Post is part‑time; salary will be pro‑rata.
* Applicants must have a PVG Scheme membership/record for the relevant regulatory group (child and/or adult).
* Following legislative changes from 1 April 2025, the applicant may be required to provide a different level of criminal record check.
* Candidate must have the required permission to work in the United Kingdom.
