A warm and ambitious Sutton primary is seeking a passionate Year 1 Teacher to lead an energetic KS1 class from January 2026. The successful Year 1 Teacher will prepare planning before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and take responsibility for children’s learning and wellbeing in class from January 2026. Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities The Year 1 Teacher will: deliver systematic phonics and guided reading as the Year 1 Teacher; plan sequenced writing and mathematics lessons as the Year 1 Teacher; run targeted interventions and track progress as the Year 1 Teacher; work closely with teaching assistants and parents as the Year 1 Teacher. The Year 1 Teacher will lead assessment and moderation activities after January 2026 and contribute to whole-school events and displays as the Year 1 Teacher. Year 1 Teacher Requirements We are seeking a Year 1 Teacher with QTS (or equivalent), secure KS1 practice and confident phonics delivery. The Year 1 Teacher should be reflective, organised and able to engage families.
