New Directions Education are recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Bromborough. This full-time role will involve supporting pupils in a Year 5/6 class, including children with SEN and challenging behaviour.
Role responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
2. Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
3. Support pupils in managing their behaviour and staying focused
4. Help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment
What we’re looking for:
5. Previous school-based experience (essential)
6. Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or challenging behaviour
7. Calm, patient and resilient approach
8. Strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Specification
Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

9. NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant

We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
23. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
24. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
25. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
26. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
27. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
