An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Physiologist to join our Cardiac Rehabilitation Service at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
To apply, you will be a skilled and experienced practitioner with a BSc /BA (Hons) in Sports and Exercise Science/Therapy or a related field and hold a BACPR (Level 4) qualification.
The post requires you to work in a hospital and community setting providing Phase 1 to Phase 3 of the patient pathway. The successful candidate will work closely with the Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist Nurses to provide, plan, and design a comprehensive, individualised Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme.
The successful candidate should have substantial experience in:
* The assessment and management of an exercise prescription in relation to cardiac patients or patients with long-term conditions.
* Planning holistic programmes of rehabilitation to meet the individual needs of the patients.
* Delivering exercise to complex patient groups with multiple co-morbidities.
* Promoting health and recovery through education using face-to-face consultations and group sessions, including experience in behaviour change, risk factor assessment, and management.
Essential to the role are excellent written and communication skills and the ability to work both autonomously and within the broader cardiac MDTs.
