Job Description:
My client is a successful and fast-growing data intelligence and security risk management tech company.
They are embarking on an innovative strategy integrating tech solutions with their strong data analytical capabilities, and are looking to hire a Software Team Lead to spearhead this strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead and drive the design of robust, scalable, and secure backend systems
* Provide suitable integration with front-end solutions
* Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of all systems and languages, striving to become an authority
* Identify technical risks early and provide pragmatic solutions
* Review and give feedback on technical designs, requirements, and documentation
* Promote best practices across software engineering, focusing on code quality, CI/CD, documentation, and data governance
* Collaborate with Data Science and Intelligence teams to set development priorities and roadmaps
This role will initially manage two engineers with plans to grow alongside the delivery team of five.
As this is a new role, it will involve hands-on work initially to establish architecture and implement tools, frameworks, and platforms.
Required demonstrable experience:
* Team leadership in both technical deliverables and people management
* Responsibility for architecture and technical solutions
* Strategic planning and project execution aligned with company objectives
* Extensive hands-on software engineering experience, especially with Python, Databricks, AWS, Azure
* Experience within data analytics/data intelligence organizations is preferred
* Designing, building, and supporting cloud infrastructure
* Understanding cloud networking concepts and patterns
* Knowledge of info and data security
* Experience with container orchestration systems and workload management
This is a hybrid role based in central London.
Please note: SC clearance or eligibility is essential.
