My client in the Hemsworth area require an experienced Mig Welder / Fabricator. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety and quality standards. Duties and Responsibilities: · Perform MIG welding on mild steel components to produce strong, clean, and accurate welds. · Read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols to determine specifications and materials required. · Set up welding equipment, including voltage, wire feed, and shielding gas settings. · Inspect and measure finished components using gauges and measuring tools to ensure conformance to tolerances. · Carry out grinding, fettling, or minor fabrication as needed to complete parts. · Follow all health and safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE. · Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work area and tools. · Report any defects, equipment faults, or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly. · Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Skills and Qualifications: · Proven experience as a MIG Welder, ideally in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. · Strong understanding of welding mild steel to commercial or structural standards. · Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents. · Basic fabrication skills including grinding, tacking, and assembly. · Knowledge of welding safety procedures and practices. · Experience using welding tools, jigs, and measuring instruments (verniers, tape measures). · Certification in MIG welding (desirable but not essential). · Forklift or overhead crane licence (advantageous, not required).
