Machine Shop Supervisor
First Achieves Engineering is working in partnership with our client, an employee-owned foundry expertizing in the manufacturing sector. The opportunity has arisen for an experienced machine shop supervisor to join their growing team. The role entails encouraging welders & machine operators to produce quality components in the best possible time frame.
Main Duties of the Role
* Setting and operating of conventional horizontal boring machine.
* Motivating team to produce 1st class quality products and get all work together.
* Operating various machine tools: e.g. lathe, milling machine
* Working to tight tolerances.
* Inspection of work through the manufacturing process.
* Assist in the creation of standard working procedures for typical processes.
* Adhering to good housekeeping practices, to ensure all equipment and working areas are clean and tidy.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a machine operator with supervisory skills.
* Skilled in operating various machine tools and specialize in conventional horizontal boring.
* The ability to read mechanical drawings and understand the machining requirement from these.
Desirable
* Having used a "Kerns Richard SH752 or similar boring machine.
* Have a counterbalance forklift truck license.
* Ability to operate overhead crane to load and unload parts
* Safe working practice knowledge in a machine shop environment.
