Overview
What experience do you have in producing electrical design deliverables such as single line diagrams, MCC specifications, and cable schedules?

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer with a strong focus on Electrical engineering. This is a hybrid position based in Knutsford, offered on an outside IR35 contract basis.
The EC&I Engineer will take responsibility for producing high-quality design deliverables, technical specifications, and supporting construction and commissioning activities.
Responsibilities
* Produce specifications and scopes of work for installation contractors and equipment suppliers.
* Deliver design work packages, including:
* Control Architecture Diagrams
* Instrument Loop Diagrams
* Motor Schematics
* Cable Block Diagrams
* Cable Routing/Layouts
* Instrument and Electrical Schedules
* Lighting Specifications and Layouts
* MCC Design Specifications and MCC/Control Room Layouts
* Provide input to design reviews and risk assessments.
* Develop project documentation, including control philosophies, cause & effect matrices, alarm lists, inspection and test plans.
* Support onsite construction and commissioning activities as required.
* Ensure deliverables are compliant with required standards, quality, and procedures.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong, positive working relationships.
Qualifications & experience
* Degree level (or minimum HNC/HND) in Electrical, Control or Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline.
* Must have and be able to maintain SC clearance.
* Proven experience in regulated or safety-critical environments.
* Familiarity with PLCs (Siemens/Allen Bradley) and communication protocols (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus).
* Strong knowledge of electrical design standards (BS 7671 / IEC 60364 / BS EN 61439).
* Experience with LV distribution, control systems, networks and architecture.
* Knowledge of 3Ph motors, drives and MCC panels.
* Awareness of HV design beneficial.
* Competence in 2D AutoCAD.
* Knowledge of DSEAR/ATEX and hazardous area design.
* Experience in safety systems design and validation (BS EN 61508 / BS EN 61511).
* Familiarity with AMTECH or ETAP engineering and design software beneficial.
* Ability to produce accurate calculations, cost estimates and technical files.
* Collaborative approach, able to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
* Strong IT skills – Office 365 including OneDrive, SharePoint, Word and Excel.
* Eligible to live and work in the UK.
* Full UK/EEC driving licence.
