Monarch Education is supporting a welcoming and well-resourced primary school in Leicester/Leicestershire to recruit a committed and creative Year 1 Teacher for two terms from January to August 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about early learning, phonics, and building children's confidence as they transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1. The Role You will: Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons across the Year 1 curriculum Support early reading through strong phonics delivery (Little Wandle / Read Write Inc / Letters & Sounds - school dependent) Create a warm, structured and inclusive classroom environment Accurately assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to individual needs Work closely with the KS1 team, parents and support staff Contribute to wider school life and uphold school values About You We're looking for: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) Experience teaching in Year 1 or KS1 (ECTs with strong placements considered) A nurturing, patient and proactive teaching style Strong behaviour management and excellent communication skills Commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning Why Work with Monarch Education?
