The College of The Resurrection,
Mirfield
wishes to appoint a suitably qualified Anglican priest or lay minister as
Academic Dean
in advance of the new academic year which commences in September 2026.
The Academic Dean will share in the formation, training and teaching of ordinands and independent students in the context of a community that is both resident and dispersed, having special responsibility for academic formation of students, including curriculum oversight and liaison with Yorkshire Theological Educational Partnership (YTEP), partner universities and the national Ministry Development Team.
Part of a small core staff team, the role will be responsible for the strategic development and management of the academic programmes of the College, comprising largely of the University of Durham Common Awards Scheme. Duties will include delivery of some course modules, with a specialism in Biblical Studies, whilst acting as lecturer and, at times, as tutor. Importantly, the post requires commitment to the formation of candidates for ministry and full participation in the worshipping and social life of the College and its sponsoring monastic community, The Community of the Resurrection, based on the same Mirfield site.
Remuneration is based on the Lichfield Scale for staff of Anglican Theological Education Institutions. Living accommodation local to the Mirfield site (or an allowance) will be offered for the better performance of duties at the College.
