Overview
Deputy Research Finance Manager – Fixed‑term 24‑month contract at the University of Edinburgh’s Research Office. Full‑time, 35 hours per week. Salary £41,064.00 – £48,822.00 per annum.
This role delivers financial management and post‑award administration of externally funded research projects, ensuring robust financial controls and compliance with sponsors’ regulations and the Edinburgh Research Office governance framework.
Responsibilities
* Manage a team of staff in post‑award administration of externally funded research projects.
* Ensure appropriate financial controls and compliance with sponsors’ regulations and Research Governance.
* Collaborate with research and professional service communities, partners and funders.
* Support academic colleagues to develop new ways of working and achieve research objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience of staff management within a deadline‑driven, high‑volume financial administration function.
* Strong financial management and accounting background within a robust control environment.
* Passion for using finance as an enabler to support colleagues in their goals.
* Highly self‑motivated and able to thrive in constantly changing environments.
* Knowledge of research grant processes and funding agencies is desirable.
