The Process Engineer will be assigned to a specific project or projects within the portfolio and will have responsibilities for the technology selection, process design and coordination of the process activities on the project(s).The Process Engineer will guide the production of concept and front-end engineering design for various projects, including block diagrams and process flow diagrams (PFD's), design basis, heat and material balance, preliminary piping and instrumentation diagrams (PID’s) together with the necessary design reviews. These projects will vary significantly in size and opportunity / challenge level.Ensure continuity of process engineering design through later project phases to commissioning and handover. Oversight and direction in safety in design, design standards and on time on budget on quality. Your responsibilities: Lead the resolution of technical issues within the technology for complex problemsDemonstrate innovation and creatively, inside and outside of individual projects. Takes action to solve risk issues and recommend complexIdentify and propose the use of new technologies to gain competitive advantageDemonstrate a proactive and uncompromising attitude to process safety. Ensure full compliance with all Environment, Health and Safety policies and procedures, throughout their daily activities, giving due consideration to themselves and others whilst actively participating in the building of the EHS cultureParticipate in Safety Studies for technology and capital projects. Ensure all relevant Health & Safety risk assessments are carried out as required and all actions closed in a timely mannerLead the technical work and deliverables for new process introduction projectsResponsible for basic engineering design packages and other technical input for new processes for which capital projects are required in adherence to Capex Projects procedures and agreed internallyManage small technical projects or supporting project managers in the delivery of larger projects, including reporting. Mentor junior process engineers.Ensure technical knowledge is kept up to date. Develop and maintain close contact with technical experts within the relevant engineering fieldsRequirements for the role: Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience – Chartered Status is preferredSubstantial relevant experience as project process engineerProven process engineering design experience with technical safety and environmental aspectsProficient in use of Engineering Software, eg Hysys, ProII, Aspen+A self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive and initiativeDemonstration of customer focus and ability to respond to customer needs whilst achieving project and corporate objectives.
