Our work spans gates, railings, staircases, automatic gates, and bespoke ironwork. We collaborate with a wide range of clients including architects, developers, artists, Historic Scotland, English Heritage, the National Trust, and domestic customers across Central Scotland. Misc metalwork, galvanising, sandblasting, and specialised railing painting. As part of our continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Gate & Railing Fabricator or Installation Engineer (Chargehand) to join our team. The Role This is a hands-on, full-time position involving the fabrication, installation, and repair of gates, railings, and bespoke metalwork. You will work both in our Glasgow workshop and on-site across Central Scotland, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Fabricate and install a variety of metal gates, railings, and bespoke ironwork Undertake welding and repair work in mild steel. Assist in the installation of automatic and electric gate systems in collaboration with our in-house automation engineers Read and interpret engineering drawings and site specifications Lead or supervise small installation teams when required Liaise with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and quality standards are met About You Proven experience in metal fabrication or installation work Skilled in MIG/TIG welding and working from technical drawings Full UK driving licence (essential) Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship Ability to work independently and as part of a team Supervisory or chargehand experience (advantageous but not essential) What We Offer Competitive hourly rate of £19.10 per hour Company vehicle provided for site work Fully pensionable position Long-term, stable employment with an expanding company Opportunity to work on unique and varied projects across Scotland If you’re a skilled fabricator or installer looking to join a reputable and growing metalworks company with a proud heritage, we’d love to hear from you.
