A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I’m a man in my late 50’s with complex health needs. My care is monitored 24/7 because I cannot do anything without assistance. You will be working as part of a small team of PAs to assist me in my home.
I need assistance with all my daily living needs including but not limited to feeding, moving, walking, personal hygiene and medication.
I live with my sister who is my main carer.
PLACE OF WORK
At my home in Ystrad.
HOURS OF WORK
2 positions available:
16 hours per week part-time.
37 hours per week full-time.
You must be willing to cover sickness and annual leave which could include day hours, weekends and overnights.
RATE OF PAY
£12.50 per hour weekday
£14.50 per hour weekend
Raising after 6 months.
TASKS INVOLVED
1. Ensuring my safety and well-being at all times in relation to the following -
2. Reassuring me when I am anxious
3. General and basic meal prep and providing drinks as and when needed. Assisting me with both of these tasks as I have difficulty chewing and swallowing; ensuring I do not choke whilst swallowing
4. Assisting me with my bathing, toileting and hygiene needs – ie: personal care
5. Monitoring general health - chest infections, eye care, mouth care, skin markings, pressure sores
6. Assisting me to take daily medication
7. General support around the house which could include general household cleaning, laundry, mopping floors, wiping down surfaces, vacuuming, general tidying as required
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
8. You must be reliable, dependable and flexible
9. Someone who understands my care needs are a priority
10. Attend shifts on time; contacting your employer if there’ll be lateness or absence
11. Someone who has a good sense of humour
12. A positive outlook
13. Respect the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home
14. Experience in a caring role would be beneficial but not essential
15. Mature and well-experienced in life is strongly preferred
