Assistant Estimator
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: £30,450 – £45,670 (depending on suitability, qualifications, and level of experience).
Working pattern: AWE operates a 9‑day working fortnight. Flexible working requests are considered.
About the role
We need a key member of our Project Deliver team to bring estimating expertise, turning data into insight, collaborating with senior teams, and driving clarity, confidence and control across AWE’s projects.
Required qualifications
* Project awareness including cost and/or estimating experience.
* Experience in stakeholder management with ability to collaborate at senior levels.
* Good standard of general education, including engineering, technical or management qualifications or equivalent or proven level of experience.
Preferred experience
* Deploying appropriate procedures, processes and systems to ensure quality and consistency of estimating deliverables.
* Supporting the preparation, monitoring and forecasting of cost estimates and plans for specified projects, including change control.
* Assisting in the formulation of cost estimates and cost plans.
* Providing estimating input to value engineering assessments and evaluation as required.
* Performing and supporting other estimating requirements as requested.
* Developing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders.
* Maintaining high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and being a great team player.

* Hybrid working is available on an informal, non‑contractual basis.
