Package Details:
The successful candidate will receive a Salary of £50,000 - £75,000

Purpose of the role:
The purpose of the Head of Mortgages role is multi-faceted and crucial for the success of the mortgage department and the overall organisation of the team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
Leadership: Responsible for developing and executing plans to achieve the company's objectives. This involves setting long-term goals, identifying growth opportunities, and steering the department in the right direction to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.
Operational: Oversees all aspects of mortgage operations, including origination, underwriting, closing, and servicing. They ensure that the department operates efficiently, adheres to regulatory requirements, and delivers high-quality service to customers.
Team Management: Recruiting, training, and mentoring mortgage staff to ensure they have the skills and resources needed to perform their roles effectively. Sets performance targets, provides guidance, and fosters a positive work culture to motivate team members and drive success.
Business Development: Identifies opportunities for expanding the mortgage business, developing new products, and entering new markets. They build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as estate agents and builders to generate leads and grow the customer base.
Risk Management: Implements risk management strategies to safeguard the organisation against potential losses, monitors market trends, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements to minimise risk exposure.
Financial Management: Oversees the financial aspects of the mortgage department, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysing performance metrics. They strive to achieve financial targets, optimise resource allocation, and maximise profitability while maintaining a focus on delivering value to customers.
Customer Service: Sets standards for customer service excellence, ensures that customer inquiries and complaints are addressed promptly and professionally, and fosters a customer-centric culture within the department.
