A leading food retailer and wholesaler in the North West is seeking a Senior Trading Manager to take full ownership of one of its key ambient grocery categories. What you’ll be responsible for
* Owning the Buying & Category Strategy for your range in a predominantly brand-led category.
* Developing and launching compelling, competitive ranges that meet customer needs.
* Identifying, onboarding and managing suppliers, strengthening long‑term partnerships.
* Negotiating sharp cost prices, particularly across major FMCG brands, to maximise margin.
* Maintaining accurate contracts, price files and commercial documentation.
* Leading in‑season promotional planning to drive sales, margin and supplier income.
What we’re looking for
* An experienced Senior Buyer / Senior Trader from the FMCG retail or wholesale food sector, with experience of dealing with the bug branded suppliers in Ambient Grocery.
* Proven end‑to‑end category ownership with a track record of delivering commercial results.
* Strong supplier‑relationship and negotiation skills, with confidence in securing competitive terms.
* A curious, commercially minded operator who stays ahead of market trends and keeps customers at the heart of decision‑making.
