You will create a safe, supportive and stimulating environment that promotes academic progress, positive behaviour and personal development, while working closely with colleagues and families to ensure a consistent and joined-up approach.Key responsibilities:Plan, deliver and assess lessons in line with the schools curriculum and policies, tracking and reporting on student progressDevelop and implement individual education plans (IEPs), behaviour plans and personalised learning programmesCreate an engaging classroom environment, organising resources and groupings to support effective learningLead on agreed subjects or areas, coordinating teaching, assessment and reporting across key stagesWork effectively with support staff, ensuring they are well briefed and able to provide high-quality supportManage and support behaviour positively, helping students develop independence and self-regulationWork collaboratively within a multi-professional team, maintaining clear communication with colleagues, care staff and familiesEnsure safeguarding, health and safety, and all statutory and school policies are consistently followed, while maintaining accurate records and professional standardsWhat you will bring:UK QTSExperience working with students with autism spectrum conditions and/or those displaying challenging behaviourExperience within an educational settingConfidence in planning, delivering and teaching engaging lessonsThe ability to work both independently and as part of a teamStrong verbal and written communication skillsAccuracy and attention to detail when recording and maintaining informationAbout UsBestwood Village School is a brand-new school in Bestwood Village, Nottinghamand will have capacity for 30 pupils and is due to open in September 2024.This is an exciting opportunity for anybody who wants to be a part of the successful development of a brand-new setting and make a difference to the education of our pupils.For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
