What You Do
As a Senior Relationship Banker, you are responsible for managing and enhancing client relationships, focusing on attracting and retaining new clients while strengthening existing ones. You directly manage and grow a client portfolio of high value consumer and small business clients. This role involves maximizing cross-sales opportunities through effective customer profiling, with the ultimate goal of cultivating interest in various consumer and business banking products. You deliver an exceptional customer experience through engagement of customers in the branch, over the phone, and through collaboration with business partners. The Senior Relationship Banker provides comprehensive support to clients, ensuring their needs are met and issues are resolved efficiently.
* Independently manage a portfolio comprised of both high value consumer clients and small business customers.
* Proactively deepen relationships with new and existing customers by maintaining contact through early engagement calls and regular outreach to portfolio customers.
* Be the expert on Santander products and services and articulate the benefits that meet customers’ needs.
* Assess customer needs by asking questions and identifying opportunities to help achieve their financial goals today and in the future.
* Recommend and deliver needs-based solutions while identifying and introducing key partners as appropriate.
* Collaborate with team members and partners to achieve branch goals and drive overall performance.
* Participate in joint calling with Product partners to generate and deepen relationships with business customers.
* Ensure an elevated customer experience with personalized, seamless, and attentive service.
* Engage customers through digital platforms and educate them on self-service options.
* Use critical thinking and problem resolution skills to address client inquiries and challenges effectively.
* Communicate clearly with customers in person, over the phone, or through digital channels.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to risk and fraud defense.
* May extend responsibilities to support nearby branch locations based on business needs.

* High school diploma, GED or equivalent; Business Management, Finance, or related field – Required.
* Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience – Preferred.
* 5+ years experience in selling products and/or services in an incentive-based environment – Required. (OR) 2+ years in Financial Services with direct experience acquiring new client relationships and developing existing client relationships – Required. (OR) 12+ months Santander experience related to essential functions, with endorsements – Required. (AND)
* 12+ months customer service experience in a high volume, fast-paced environment – Required.
* Motivated to help people achieve financial goals.
* Strong financial acumen with knowledge of consumer and small business products and lending.
* Proven track record in sales and cross-selling; ability to manage a portfolio of clients effectively.
* Proven relationship-building and customer-centric approach.
* Team player with ability to build relationships with colleagues and partners.
* Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; excellent verbal and written communication.
* Proficient with digital tools and technology to engage customers.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities; ability to work branch hours, including weekends and evenings.
Compensation and Benefits
Base Pay Range: Minimum $52,500.00 USD – Maximum $87,500.00 USD
