Job Description
Role: General Groundwork
Pay: £17.00 - £19.00 per hour
Location: Swindon Based
Responsive Personnel are looking for General Groundworkers. The ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in groundworks and civil construction tasks, and the ability to work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Concreting works, including preparation, pouring, and finishing.
* Shuttering and formwork for various structures.
* Pipe laying for shallow and deep excavations.
* Sheeting and framing operations (ticketed operators preferred).
* Mechanical installation of pipework and associated fittings.
* Operate plant and machinery safely, including:
* Excavators (up to and over 10 tons, ticket required)
* Dumpers (ticket required)
* Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
* Setting out and maintaining levels according to project requirements.
* Adhering to all site safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a groundworker in civil engineering or construction projects.
* Relevant tickets/certifications for sheeting, framing, excavator, and dumper operations.
* Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
* Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working under minimal supervision.
* Strong understanding of site safety procedures and hazard awareness.
Desirable Attributes:
* Experience in working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
* Ability to mentor or guide junior operatives.
* Flexible and adaptable to different tasks as required by the project.
