The Role Be a qualified member of the Digital Surfacing team to produce world class surfaces from Concept to Production, in an automotive Design Studio environment. Collaborate with cross functional Design Studio teams to deliver the design intent. Assemble, review and maintain master surface files with variants, working with our Studio Engineers, to ensure the latest CAS and Engineering data is readily available to review. Report progress and issues to surfacing lead to deliver Surfaces to agreed project delivery plan with planned reviews and signoff with all appropriate stakeholders. Work effortlessly between Alias Sub-D and Alias Nurbs workflows, at a high level, to ensure rapid surface development to design freeze gateways. Duties/Responsibilities Create Digital surfaces from sketch input through to A-Class surfaces Work closely with the Digital Surfacing Lead to deliver Surfaces for core projects Work with the CAS Lead to deliver the project through the lifecycle of project development within the design studio Ensure timely development and delivery of assigned surfaces associated with the project Work closely with the design team to ensure design intent is captured and understand design sketches to translate this into 3d. Collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure an appropriate level of hardpoints and boundary conditions are respected during the surface development Appropriately use Sub-D and NURBS surfacing techniques to rapidly develop surfaces through the products development lifecycle Aid in maintain the Latest Release and Work in Progress master files to ensure the cross-functional design teams have the latest relevant information Ensure all surfaces delivered for review and release meet our quality standards and highlight any non-compliances Remain up to date with relevant industry trends to ensure knowledge of latest software and processes and how these can be relayed directly into our team.
