Job overview
Torbay and South Devon ENT Department, Torbay Hospital, is looking to appoint an ENT Trust Doctor (F2 / CT equivalent) for a period of 6 months.
The post will include on-call, ward and outpatient based working. They will focus on looking after patients on the wards or through an elective, ambulatory or on call route. There will be opportunities to complete training opportunities such as clinical skills, attending clinics or theatre lists.
On call requirements will be on a 1:5 rota which will include 24-hour non-resident on call shifts and weekend working on a compliant junior doctor rota.
Main duties of the job
To be an enthusiastic member of the surgical team attending and participating with ward rounds, including all aspects of inpatient care including discharges and outpatient emergency clinics.
Be a pro-active member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure excellent and well-co-ordinated patient care.
Develop clinical knowledge through attendance at weekly timetabled educational meetings.
Develop teaching skills through the supervision of medical students rotating through the Department.
Have opportunity for career development through the opportunity to attend relevant courses and to prepare for relevant exams.
Comply with local and trust policies and procedures.
The ENT Department manages the full range of ENT conditions. Patients requiring joint care with Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Cardiothoracic surgery, or Specialist Paediatrics are referred to tertiary referral centres. Specialist clinics are provided in the following areas:
* Head & Neck Cancer MDT
* Two week wait clinic jointly run with Oral & Maxillo Facial Surgery
* Voice – including Videostroboscopy, jointly with Speech and Language Therapy
* Vestibular – including electronystagmography, electrocochleography and Calorics
* Paediatric
* Thyroid MDT – jointly with Endocrine
* Bone anchored hearing aids

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Doctor to join our ENT Department at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. Applicants are invited for the attached post commencing Start Date: Wednesday 3rd December 2025 - contract to run for 6 months, End Date: 5th May 2026.
We are an innovation team of 6 Consultants covering Otology, Rhinology, Balance and Head and Neck cancer services. You are also supported by an Associate Specialist and two SpR’s. The remainder of the medical team includes 3 F2’s and a CT. This is an excellent opportunity to gain useful clinical experience in this speciality.

* Full GMC with licence to practice
* Medical Degree
* ALS training or equivalent
* 12 months continuous experience within the NHS
* Completion of Foundation training
