Location:Cannock
Shifts: Continental - 1 x 4 on / 4 off (Days Only) 1 x 4 on /4 off (Nights Only)
Hours: 12-hour shifts (includes 30-minute lunch)
About the Role
We're looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Engineers to join our team, working on a continental shift pattern. You'll report directly to the Departmental Engineer and play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and improving our production equipment.
What You'll Be Doing
* Conducting daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance inspections
* Responding promptly to breakdowns to minimize downtime
* Reporting parts used to maintain adequate stock levels
* Investigating breakdown causes and proposing long-term solutions
* Installing, modifying, and commissioning plant equipment (to regulations)
* Supporting apprentice training
* Occasionally covering call-outs and working overtime when required
What We're Looking For
* Qualifications: C&G Part 3 or ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering
* Experience: Time-served apprenticeship
* Strong fault-finding skills in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Proficiency in reading engineering drawings
* Hands-on experience with motors, gearboxes, drives, and cranes
* Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a foundry environment
* Forklift, access equipment, or banksman certification
* Competence in operating lathes, milling machines, and grinders
