Overview
We are seeking a motivated and personable Market Sales Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop sales skills within a vibrant retail environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with customers, promoting products, and supporting the overall sales operations at our market stall. Previous experience in sales or customer service is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. A friendly attitude, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach are key qualities for this position.
Duties
* Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries in a professional manner
* Promote and demonstrate products to maximise sales opportunities
* Maintain visual merchandising standards to attract customers
* Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems
* Restock stock and ensure the stall remains tidy and organised throughout the day
* Provide product information and recommend suitable options based on customer needs
* Support with setting up and packing down the market stall at the beginning and end of each shift
* Collect customer feedback to help improve service quality
* Assist in stock management, including inventory checks and recording sales data
Experience
* Previous experience in retail, customer service, or sales is desirable but not mandatory; full training will be provided
* Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
* Organised with good attention to detail
* Confident in engaging with diverse customer groups
* Willingness to learn about products and sales techniques
