This is a fantastic opportunity to support engaging, hands-on science learning by ensuring labs are well-resourced, safe, and inspiring.\n\nAbout the Role \n\nScience Technicians (Chemistry), you'll play a vital role in the smooth running of the science department, preparing materials and ensuring that teachers and students have everything they need for impactful practical work.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nPreparing and organising chemical solutions, reagents, glassware, and equipment for Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5 lessons.\nAssisting with in-class experiments and demonstrations under teacher supervision.\nManaging chemical stock levels, lab equipment, and ensuring safe storage and handling of substances.\nMaintaining clean, hazard-free laboratory environments in line with health and safety standards.\nEnsuring compliance with COSHH regulations and school policies.\nSupporting students and staff by providing technical advice and assisting with risk assessments where necessary.\nHelping create engaging displays and maintaining resources for practical coursework. \n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nWe welcome applications from candidates who:\n\nHold a degree in Chemistry or a closely related science field.\nHave prior experience in a school science lab or commercial lab (desirable, not essential - training can be provided).\nPossess strong organisational skills and attention to detail.\nAre confident in handling chemicals and following strict safety protocols.\nWork well independently and as part of a team.\nAre passionate about education and excited to support young people's learning.
